Barrio Fiesta in the Philippines is celebrated in towns throughout the provinces celebrating their town saint. The festivities usually last a couple of days up to a couple of weeks. A town procession is held where the local school bands perform. A pageant is also held! This and many more fun activities are held.
An annual event, Barrio Fiesta at UC Merced is celebrated by bringing cultural awareness of the Philippines to the UC Merced community and Merced community. In the past, PAA has done a night show filled with student performances, performances from other clubs, performances by our Choir, Cultural crew, and Modern Crew, and headliners to close the night. The show also included a sneak preview to our Pilipino Cultural Night (PCN) production the following semester.
Barrio Fiesta is headed by the Director(s) of Pilipino Cultural Night. If you have any questions, please email: paa.ucm.pcn@gmail.com
This year instead of a night show, we will be having an all day Barrio Fiesta, filled with games, food, and performances (throughout the day) as well as our headliners at the end of the event.
